So today we woke up in Salt Lake, after a very non-eventful evening.Pilled in the van and drove into Wyoming. Had an interesting conversation with the locals. The clerk at the gas-station thought he knew us so didn't card us for using our cards, and told us to remember him when were famous. Drove through absolutely nothing. Ran into the sketchiest ghost town, drove a long with a bunch of crazy truckers racing each other. Finally got into Colorado and could see something and Now up in our sketchy Ramada inn in Denver and crammed 6 dudes into a smalllll ass room. Waking up early to set up the booth.

On the road to Denver for SIA in a creepy van...

Today was eventful. Got in the van at 8.45 am... drove 2 miles to the Biltmore at state line for a cheap breakfast. After that stopped in Reno to find some Bean Bags for the back of the van to make it very very cozy. We failed....

Stopped in Winnemucka NV for a drink... got back on the road stopped in Elko NV for some taco bell. Finally got into Utah and got to SLC at Ross's parents house set up my bed on the floor and about to go see the SLC nightlife.

Downtown Throwdown

Adventure -

The Downtown Throwdown was heading to Seattle WA. so we decided to go up and have a good time. Paul, Dylan, and Parker were covering it, so Colt and I decided to go along for a fun time. The entire trip was an adventure. We didn't hit the road until 12.30 am on friday morning, drove through the night and arrived in Seattle around 1 pm later that day.

First thing we did was go to the space needle and scope that out, then went to the rock in roll music experience museum. Later got a hotel room and hit the town. The next day the contest started so we went and it was pouring rain, but the contest stayed on schedule. The after party was pretty awesome.

The next morning woke up late to drive the 12 hours home.

It is that time of year again here in Tahoe. That's right... the temperatures have dropped and the snow has started to fall. October 4th was first snowfall, and the next day we were out in full force shredding the 1-3 inches of Mt. Rose, NV. It was a much needed activity for all of us going stir crazy without seeing snow on the ground and not being able to make turns. Heres a few pictures from my phone...

I have gone through my share of stuff that has put my life in a strange spiral the last month. Who hasn't? Well the last few events I have gone through have scared me and made me realize a few things. These things being that people.. no matter who they are will find some way to disappoint you, life is full of change, mistakes, and surprises, they are usually for the better, but you have to just go with it, and sure you can be scared of the unknown future, I am I can get scared of it sometimes. However due to a close friend who has made me realize that I am a 22 year old adventurous and fun loving kid, why worry. I got another 20 or more years of growing and learning.

Life is about learning who you are, and who you want to be... and taking the steps to get to the better person.
I do not know what changed that made me forget that... but people are generally assholes, hypocrites, d-bags, fuck ups, failures, and dont give a flying shit about you. Life is about finding the few good people that do care about you and letting them care for you no matter what. And make sure they know it... even if they one day crush you... cuz if you get crushed it only makes you a better person to rise up from the wreckage as a stronger better person.

Live life be Happy... Fuck the assholes they can be unhappy in their own personal life.

Best Weekend EVER!!!!

It's been a while since I have posted anything. Main reasoning being that I have been busy with summer activities and work. Here are a few of the activities I have done since it has officially been summer here in Tahoe.

This is by far the BEST WEEKEND EVER, and I dont even have photos of half of it!!!

on Friday evening we all met up 10 miles south of I 80 right by Emigrant Gap. We ended up starting a fire, drinking some beers, and BBQing. The next morning I woke up to take Jacki to the 80 so she could go skydiving in Lodi, and I was jealous that I was not going with her to jump out of a perfectly good plane. After that I went back to camp and had breakfast then hiked to the Bear River right by our camp sight and did some cliff jumping and swimming with all the friends. After that we decided to go to Emerald Pools for some more cliff jumping and swimming.

Sunday morning we then went to Boreal for some Summer shred!! Jacki, Tim, Jeff and I got to Boreal and met up with Keith and Fancy to shred and had some awesome FUN. I was riding my board from this season and had a giant core shore and missing part of the edge and it kept catching so I declared it was the last day of the season and snapped it.

For Casey's 20th birthday some of the Flop House decided to go down to San Francisco for a few days to skate at some world famous spots, party, and go to Bay to Breakers, which is pretty much the west coast version of Mardi Gras. Needless to say it was EPIC. We left Truckee around 8pm on Friday night. Dylan's mom was gracious enough to let us all sleep there. Dylan, Casey D, Josh, and I were so stoked for the trip. Josh had never been to San Fran in all it's glory.

Got in late due to an accident on the Bay Bridge that engulfed three lanes. Went to a house party on Haight street, and then went to go to sleep. Next morning woke up very early to go skate around the city.. Ended up going to a few famous spots and had a lot of fun.

That night we got a few 40's and went up to the top of a hill top and looks over the entire city, then went out to the Raddest hookah bar I've ever seen. Got a little drunk and then walked back to Dylan's place.

The next day woke up got some coffee and trekked over to bay to breakers starting line. Couldnt find any liquor stores so spent an hour trying to find one. Spent way too much money, bought four 12 packs and a bottle of Jamo and started the walk. Half way through we lost Josh, Johnny, Jena, and Jordan! The rest of the day was spent walking trying to find them all, but none of their phones were charged so it was almost pointless. We walked the entire 7 mile stretch and finally found Jordan. As we started to walk back to Dylan's place we got a call from Josh saying he was down at Sunset with a few Bros he had never met. We hoped on a bus to meet him. We then decided to go find Johnny and go all over the city. Right as we were going to step on a bus johnny called us saying he was at Dylans!

Went back home and slept ALL night. Next morning woke up and spent the day with Lena and Dani on Haight street shopping and drove back in the shitty rain.

Northstar Retail Employee Party

So a few weeks ago we had a end of the season employee party for all of the retail shops at Northstar. The plan was to pick us up in a big school buss drive us to Grand Sierra Resort in Reno and go cart! As if that already isn't amazing enough they decided to provide free alcohol! We all got on the bus and headed for Reno as we were all drinking I thought it to be a good idea to flip everyone off through the bus window! We got down there had some races and I destroyed everyone in my way. Kacey said many times that I was the worst driver there because I was from LA. They then provided pizza for our stomaches to absorb some of the massive amounts of alcohol we consumed. DJ and I found a bar called "Players" in the go cart parking lot so we decided to go in and get a jack and coke. We figured with a name like players it would be a strip club, which I never actually had gone into one so i was pretty excited. We walked in and noticed that it was just a bar with gambling. We felt very unwelcome because of the way we looked and watched many Reno locals stare us down and give us looks of death. We ran out of our time in Reno and all drunkenly got back on the bus. Cam decided to start playing some Dub Step music over the bus's stereo system and Zach jumped up to start a rave in the bus's isle. I decided to crowd surf the dance party from back to front, and we drove around each Truckee round about more than 5 times each with each of us falling and screaming!

Bay Adventure!

Metric was playing in Oakland on the 24th, so Love, Austin, Kirby, Jello, Kacey, and I decided to venture down to the bay to witness this fine event. On the 24th, Kacey and I woke up early to drive down to Reno to fix my car a little bit. We then met up with Jello and some of his friends to snowboard at Boreal. After that we hit the road and hit traffic a few times on the way down BOOOOO. We got to our hotel which was a very classy maze of a tiny hotel. Kirby and Jellos room had a window that look across the hall into another rooms window - CREEPY.

We all went out to the show at the Fox theatre and got our drunk on! Metric played and was absolutely incredible! talk about hot babes! wooo emily is a hot babe! They played more of their new stuff off fantasies than anything , but they did play Empty, and Dead Disco, and encored with Monster Hospital! YAY. Even though the band was flawless, the crowd sucked. We all felt like we were the only ones in the crowd that had known about Metric prior to the show.

After the show we wanted two things... Beer and Food. So we started asking locals where to go, many told us to go to Radio to get our drunk on even further. So we started walking the streets of Oakland, sketchy ass Oakland. After wandering for a while we decided to stop at a Classy Marriot Hotel and ask for advice. A black security guard told us that we should go to a Chicken and waffles restraunt, how awesomely stereotypical is that?

We continued wandering the streets, saw many many hipsters on their bikes, and soon we almost were ran over by a chollo on his bike, as he almost ran us into the concrete he yells " Get out of the way Faggots!! " so all of us start calling him a fag! Great comeback, I know.

We finally ventured back to the fox, where we found a bar across the street, so decided to grab a beer, soon after the bar closed, so we were back on the streets, we decided to run back to the hotel and call it a night. As we turned on our street where the hotel was we saw RADIO... ironic.... We did not go in...

The next morning woke up bright and early again to move our cars so they would not get towed, found an amazing hole in the wall coffee joint, and drove into San Fran.

Today I was able to pull off my bandage after getting 8 stitches... needless to say I was excited to see the carnage! Here is what it looks like after 2 days.

Anatomy Lesson

Today was a day off and I went shredding at the star with Kacey for a few runs before she had work. After that I was riding with basically everyone. Keith, Fancy, Danyale, Brenden, Colton, Durrell, Blake, Xander, Jen, Spence! everyone was out.

After a very long day of snowboarding and having fun, I decided to go pack up all of my belongings and throw them into my car (my new house). In doing so I decided to put my back seats down before Andy even knew I was at the house.

I accidentally slammed my fold down back seats on my right ring finger. I kept it pressed down for a while then realized how much pain I was in, and looked at my finger... I could see my bone... I immediately freaked out and ran into the house screaming. Asked Andy what he thought, and he told me I needed stiches... so I went to the E.R.

I then found out that my finger was FUCKED UP and need 8 stiches...

the doctor scared me twice... by when he cleaned out the wound and started freaking out and yelling for help. So I looked at my finger and saw a pool of blood on the bed and all over the place.

Then he scared me by saying "I hope you know you will probably lose your finger.... nail" What a jerk for pausing that long!

If your Dad ever buys you a house in the Tahoe area, and you gain a few friends/roommates in your Fathers house that you consider your very own and claim that at 24 you bought it by yourself... then this is what you should right to your roommates when you cannot grow enough balls to talk to them about how you feel, instead of being a mature adult and trying to talk it out... WRITE THIS and ruin all your friendships :

Dear David,

When I bought my house I knew that I would be in a position to provide rooms to some of my friends for the snowboard season. I also knew that i would be able to do a huge favor for them by asking for minimal rent in return. I also knew that i would be able to provide everything for them, as in a bed, laundry machines, pots and pans, plates, glasses, and silverware, etc. What i was unprepared for was how trying it would be on my psyche. What you may not know is that i have lived alone my entire adult life and have not had a roommate since i was 18. That being said, I have developed many habits and have gotten very used to things being done in a very particular manner. When the opportunity presented itself for me to have rommates this winter i jumped on it, not because i was lonely or couldn't afford to live alone anymore, but rahter because i wanted to have that experience as an adult. I have learned a lot about myself over the months that you have been living here. I have been tried and tested and put into a situation that i have found completely un-enjoyable and one that i do not find comfortable at all. It is a situation where i have to balance being your friend, being a disciplinarian and where i have to to make choices that i know could cause permanent damage to friendships that i would rather not have harmed. It seems to me, from my perspectice at least, that i have to walk very delicately in my own house; that in many cases to keep the peace i have to tread very lightly on many topics and it makes mefeel like a guest in my own house. It is an awkward feeling to walk through the front door of a house that you own and feel like you are a guest. I miss the feeling of permanence that my house gave me before yo moved in, a feeling that i thought no one could ever take away from me. Over the summer, and in the fall before you moved in, my house was my sanctuary: a place I could come to relax to feel completely stress free no matter what was going on outside; it was an incredible feeling and i have lost that.
It is with great regret that i would please ask you to find new residences before this month is over. If you find new places to live before the 12th and all of your stuff is out, you will not have to pay me anything for march. I will only ask you to pay half month if you are out by the 20th and a full months rent if you are here a full month. I am asking you to do this because i fear what will happen to our friendships if i do not. You both are rather important people in my life and I would likefor it to stay that way, and unfortunately those feelings will not stay if you continue to live here. I feel very privileged that i can refer to both of you as great friends and would never want that to change. I have learned a lot about both of you, and mostly myself from this experience and I am very glad that it happened but it cannot continue. Ultimately i want my sanctuary back and the feeling that comes with it. I need to atleast spend some time alone in my house before i can consider having roommates again. I sincerely hope that you do not think less of me after reading this, and that our friendships will remain intact.
I feel terrible about this being a necessity, but unfortunately that is the truth. Let me know how i can help with anything you need.

In this world, we as human beings desire to find meaning in everything we do. Whether it is for pride, religion, or for someone else, we struggle to find hope in things, and to find comfort in other things. There are many words that we have created to not only express our feelings, but to define our daily lives.

Home... what do you think of when you hear this word? Usually a comfy bed, family, a place you grew up, or a place you reside currently. However "Home" is just a word.

I have always been happy to have a "home" in the house I grew up in, in the city I grew up in. When I moved up here I moved around A LOT! I've been in crappy living situations, and in the past year and a half have done a whole lot.

It is recently that I have realized I no longer want a home... I do not have a place to sleep or store my belongings. I have many chances of finding a place to do this... and I will eventually, but right now nothing sounds better than throwing my stuff into my car and floating from floor to floor. My reason for doing this is because I have had some horrible roommates, lived in some horrible house's (as in falling a part). My last house especially was not good for me. I feel that I was forced into that house to maintain a friendship which is no longer... Since day one I did not want to be in my last house, I have actually been looking for a new house since I moved in, but none compared to the cheap cost of living.

I will continue to look for a new place to live... but I am not worried about if I find one or not. I will more than likely float until summer time.

Home is just a word, you can find comfort on the streets if needed... which I might.

Thank you to all my friends who have helped me during these past few days and who have offered their floors... I LOVE YOU VERY VERY MUCH!

Saw even more of my family, great time! had lunch at my Mother and Father in laws house.
Then I read the newspaper and read about the earthquake in Chile. So I decided to go check out the waves to see if it had a big impact on them = indeed it did!
At Ave H. the waves were double over head (12 feet). The sets were even bigger! I would have paddled out if it hadn't rained the day prior, and if it wasn't walled up.

If you dont know... when it rains in SoCal, the sewage runs out into the water, so when it rains... everything on the streets goes straight out into the ocean due to the running water. So if you surf during a storm you need to have many many shots to prevent getting disease's. I decided not to get one so I did not paddle out.

Went to Hag's and Lunada Bay just to see how the waves were - INSANE! But no one was out so there for they must have not been that great!

Today was another awesome day!
Last night I went over to hang out with some old friends and play some beer pong, smoke some hookah, and play some street fighter. IT WAS PRETTY RAD! saw some really old friends, I have not seen since highschool graduation!

Today my parents woke me from a slumber to take me out to breakfast. We then went to Farmers Market where it was dumping rain, and there was a man playing steel drums, if I had a cup of coffee with me.. I would have danced, but my mental state was not there yet.

Sammy then joined me at my house and we went to Panera Bread ONCE AGAIN! (I am eating there as much as possible while I can!) After lunch we went to Del Amo mall to get me some jeans. Had a great time , saw EVEN more old friends and caught up.

Then went out to dinner at Black Angus with my family. My aunt and uncle decided to drive in from Arizona for the dedication tomorrow so got to catch up with them and watch them get a little drunk off a bottle of wine.

Then spent the few remaining hours at my sisters house playing with my super cute niece's! IT WAS A FUCKING GREAT DAY!

LA day # 2! Gaper Hunt - Big Bear Edition!

It has been a while since I have had any quality time with my Dad, and an even longer time since he and I decided to swing up to Big Bear together. We used to ski and snowboard together once or twice a week. That ended when I got my license and went 4 days week by myself.

I forgot about Big Bear... I don't mean that as in I forgot it's existence, I mean that as in I forgot why I choose to get the hell out of there! Yes Big Bear is great fun, when you are with a BIG crew of friends. There is a crap ton of features, and crazy ones at that, but they are all sketchy as shit! Also everyone in BroCal SoCal has the worst attitude towards everyone and everything! It is snowboarding "Brah" have some fucking fun, relax and go listen to fitty cent!

My second run I almost got in a fight and slipped out on the texas rail, almost breaking my wrist.. GOOD TIMES!

Also I rode in my usual crap for up north... Jeans, hoodie and a flannel which had my dream catcher hanging off... so I looked like a tight pants wearing gypsy. Needless to say... lots of Gangstas were a little upset! I forgot about the battle between tight pants kids and Baggy pants kids down there! Up in Tahoe we all get a long!

I got to see GABY YAY GABY! She hooked me up with SUPER CHEAP FOOD! YAY FOOD!

Finally we decided to go home, after my dad took a bad fall in the slushy slush in the half pipe (he doesn't ride pipe, he was watching me...)

As we were sitting in traffic, I decided to play him "Why would anyone want to live here?" by Death Cab... I thought it was epic sitting in traffic and listening to lyrics such as "the traffic is always creeping"

In all and all it was a GREAT day! My dad and I had a few interesting and also confusing conversations... hes an engineer so he says a lot of shit I don't understand unless he dulls it down to an idiots language!

I am in LA visiting my family and friends for the next few days. It has been really amazing seeing all of my family!

My new born niece; Quinn! She is sooo cute!
and also to see Elianna, my other niece.

I flew in today from Reno into LAX. It was literally the best flight I have EVER had! In a BRAND NEW plane, that was painted lime green (my fav. color) but no one sat next to me! Also there was not a single screaming child on the plane.. Isn't it a law that there has to be one screaming child on a flight, and you always have to sit next to the rudest and fattest person on the flight?

When I landed in LA I was picked up by my wonderful mother and then taken to get my rental car for the weekend. I found out not only was I taller than the car, but if I lay down flat I AM LONGER THAN THE CAR! talk about a CLOWN CAR! HAHA. Went out to Panera Bread with my mom and took some to my sisters house to eat it and meet my niece!

Then I decided to go surfing with my old bud Carl and Derek. The waves sucked ass, super ripped and super walled, but it was nice to get out into the ocean!

Now going out to The Olive Garden with my entire family and then going to drive to Big Bear tomorrow for some so cal shred!

My sister just recently had her second daughter, born in January! YAY congrats Heather and Kellen! Since I am "Uncle Davey" I will be flying down to meet the little booger! I am flying down for a total of 5 days. I will be flying down Feb 25th , Thursday and flying back on the first of march! So lets make sure to meet up and catch up!

Also to all of my home Mountain kids (Bear!) I will be riding all day and all night on Friday, so make sure you head up for the day to take some hot laps with me!

Today I had another revolutionary great idea! This idea was born due to a dbag. Hence the new hunting = Douche bag hunting. Same idea as gaper hunting but with douche bag's. Yes most gapers are douche bags but this hunt is for the ultimate douche.

Yesterday a customer blamed me for his fart while I was ringing him up for a simple bandanna. As I was ringing him up I smelt an awful smell! I immediately knew that this man farted. I decided to ignore the horrible deadly smell out of respect for him, BAD IDEA! He decided to walk away about 5 feet and blame me for his flatulence. I was stumped because he was making a scene in front of everyone in the store. DOUCHEBAG number one!!

So with today being Presidents Day, and it being one of the most crowded weekends at Northstar, I was just walking to work and People Watching, and I saw a giant gaper, and an amazing idea just clicked in my head.

Hahaah! As I sat down to write this, I heard this quote on TV.

This quote summed up tonight's events perfectly. Sea Wolf and Phoenix were playing at the Knitting Factory in Reno. I had been offered a few tickets earlier in the month, didn't really take the time to think on it. I figured one ticket would be around for me one way or the other. (I got lazy) This morning everyone at the Box decided we would all venture down to go jam out together. However! We all soon found out it was too late, the show had sold out! BUMMER!

So I cruised down knowing that I would see about 10-15 people I knew and hope that I would be able to go in with them. Basically two hours passed by and still no dice! As I was watching Sea Wolf through the front door, i devised a clever plan to get in! The security guard's had dropped some wristbands. I waited for them to look the other way and kicked them over next to the trash can. When I reached over to pick them up the wind blew it out of my hand, I chased them and picked them up. As soon as I went to walk away, one of the guards came up to me and padded me down like I had a weapon and I was ready to hurt someone. Yelling at me "WHERE IS THE REST OF THEM?" I was then Told very sternly to leave. As I accepted my fate and started the walk of shame, I hear "Yo Tony, get this kid the hell out of here!" I look at Tony and he is a Giant Black man with a shaved head. Easily 4 times my size. I turn around as I leave the alleyway and he is following me to my car, which is 5 blocks away.

Being a little bummed that I could not get into the show I really wanted to see, I decided to go to In N Out.

New Year, New Beginning Rant

So if you don't know I have had a horrible end to this year, and a very rough and weird start to this new year. However I am awakened FINALLY, thanks to close family and friends(REAL FRIENDS), who care very very much about me and know who I am, and what I am capable of.

Yes I have lost many friends because of all this FUCKED up shit, and I have lost much respect, among even more people. All I have to say is... I AM BETTER THAN THAT, AND ALL OF THIS.

There are a select few of you that know this, and a lot of you that don't.

I will make it short and sweet:

The few of you that have helped me in my darkest hour's and have seen me in the worst mental and physical state, I would like to say thank you VERY VERY MUCH! I will forever love and respect you for that.

and for those of you that have written me off, have not given me a chance to explain myself, or have not given me a second chance, or any of you that took sides of this SHITTY situation, well.... YOU CAN FUCK OFF. I am the nicest fucking person in this shit hole tiny dramatic town, too bad you didn't get a chance to realize that, or too bad you'll never get treated the way that every human should be treated by a sweet nice human being.

I am glad to say that this is a new beginning and I am opening my eyes and my heart to whatever comes my way. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my life, because I will no longer be held back by someone who does not respect me the way that I should.

This past week has been a real rough roller coaster ride. I lost the best friend I could and will ever have had, I flew down to LA for an early Christmas with the family. I ended up losing over $500.00 in a combination of unfortunate events. I then got sick for an entire day and did not get to spend too much time with my friends or family.

I then flew back to Truckee on Christmas Eve and got back really early, then went over to Keith and Fancy's house for my Christmas eve dinner and had the best night I could have ever had! I was am so grateful for my friends and family to be there when I really need them, and I will never stop being thankful to those of you who helped me.

I then worked all day on Christmas day and went over to Keith and Fancy's house once again for Christmas dinner and had another delightful time. Then since they fell asleep by 9 PM, I decided I would swing by Johnny's house for his ugly sweater party, and had yet another great time! Here are some pictures of me being sober and silly.

I am in LA, my home city for a few days right before Christmas, and holy shit I forgot about this city. Minus my Family and few people that I consider "Actual" friends in this environment I absolutely despise this place. Last night was pretty damn rad! As I said before, The Private Dancer's, and the Misfritz were playing at Past Times. It was AMAZING!

I got off work and headed home, called Andy and he came over with a bottle of Mount Gay Rum, and a Red Barron Pizza. Ate that and had a few drinks. Then decided to walk downtown.

The show was nuts, wayyyyyy too many people were there, and wayyyyy too much good loud music. Kari told me today that I knocked her over in the pit and didn't even try to help her up. I denied it at first mainly because I didn't remember it was loud and crowded, fuck. Winter Is Here!

With COLD temperatures hitting through out California, Winter has arrived. Today being the Day before Halloween, multiple resorts opened throughout the World's Greatest State of California. Boreal re-opened today with 20 features. A jump line amd a rail line. By far the best opening they have pulled yet. (Besides it was their Second re-opening THIS SEASON.) I had the chance to ride Boreal earlier today, I will post pictures later. It was AMAZING AND FUN, super-extra ordinarly-pooptastic FUN.

Also around the Lake Tahoe Area, Mt. Rose opened a run as well today. It is the magic carpet run, but it is still shred!

Heading down south : Mt. High and Bear Mtn. both opened to the public today!!! On a slight change of event's, Mammoth is not yet open. Mammoth also does not plan on re-opening until Nov. 7th.

In mu opionion with all these resorts throughout California to snowboard at daily, WINTER IS HERE AND IT IS EARLY!

Opening Day at Boreal

Today Boreal opened with a few features. It was a complete Shit Show and Fashion Show, but in all regards it was FUN. I didn't really care about the horrible sticky snow or the shit tons of people crowding all over the place, or even the dirt patchs and rutted out landings. It was fun. Tahoe's Second Snow Day, Truckee's First!

Last night marked the second snow day in Tahoe, and today marked the FIRST snow day in Truckee. There is at least three inch's on Donner Pass and Boreal. Which will only help them open early, and help the rail jam go down!!! It was dumping today for a while and started to collect! Yay for snow!!!

September Snow; Tahoe's 1st Snow

September 30th was Tahoe's first dusting and snow fall. On that day I had to drive down to Reno for a few reasons, and saw that it had actually snowed, even with the weather men saying "20 % chance." It has been really cold and is starting to feel like winter. Boreal is even making snow and is looking to open early to mid October, weather permitting of course. There was snow on Tahoe Donner, over Donner Pass, on the tip of Northstar, and on Mt. Rose. Here are some photos.

This fine evening, we were talking snowboarding (what else is new? i know we are gay.) Anyway a friend of mine brought up that Forum makes good snowboards... I laughed, then he said that Burton was an awesome company, we all laughed. Then the friend got rather mad saying we were talking shit on Burton (we kinda were... I mean who doesn't?) He then called me out and said "Fuck you David, you ride the Stash at Northstar, and you hate Burton... whats that?" I then said "If you are going to pull that card, I can pull this one... You ride Rome and Nike snowboard boots, that's a contradiction!"

Ended up I got cussed out for saying "I'm not hating on you... I am hating on the company, your aloud to like whatever you want."

Music - more than just noise

Tonight I was just sitting in my room and I came across my old bands myspace. Last year when I moved to Truckee, the band basically fell apart. Anyway, I came across our old myspace and found that Johnny had remastered a few of our songs. I gave them a listen, even though I hate listening to my own music that I have wrote with my friends. However as I was listening to these songs that I and my friends had spent many long hours piecing together, and the many crazy and fun experiences we had as a band. Good and Bad. Each second that the songs played, I could remember all the emotions I had went through in not only writing the songs, but in EVERY SINGLE show we played, from Hollywood, to our friends backyards. THREE YEARS! of playing my heart out, breaking bones (literally) and finding closure in my lyrics and our songs.
Still to this day, some people dont understand my connection with music and how it has literally kept me alive through out my life. It has kept me positive and kept me moving forward. Also people tend to hate on Screaming in music, but there is an old fashioned saying "Let it out, If you hold in your emotions, you're going to explode." Thats all screaming is, and if you can find a way to put it to music and make it sound good, crazy, fast, heavy, melodic, WHATEVER, then power to you.

MUSIC IS LIFE, no matter how it sounds!

We went fishing today at Donner Lake. We ended up catching a very very rare and giant fish. The fish was so giant we felt bad about taking it home to eat it. So we set it free to live yet another day. After setting the giant fish free we decided to grill some burgers.

Heading Home for Winter

On August 3rd I am heading back up North for the winter. I do not plan on spending much time back in LA again ANYTIME soon. Fuck LA. Fuck the people. Fuck Flakiness. Fuck the Traffic. Fuck the selflessness. Fuck the smog. Fuck my unhappiness in being in that horrible place. I mean don't get me wrong. It's great for a week. It's great seeing all of my WONDERFUL friends. It is great seeing my WONDERFUL family. It is AMAZING being an uncle and watching my niece grow every beautiful day. But LA is not for me. So I am off to head back to Truckee to once again barley make ends meet and to be as my Father would say a "Bum". I am very very excited to head back to my favorite place in the states, but however very sad for a few reason. I will miss hanging with my friends, going to Astro bar with them, surfing with them practically every day, I will miss my family, I will miss my three puppies, mainly slinky because he wont leave my side because he is MY dog, and I will miss actually making some sort of income.

I will see all of my so-cal friends around Chirstmas, or maybe Hot Dawg's N Hand Rails if I do not go to Rome in September.

LA Living

So I have been back in my home town of Torrance (south LA) for about a week now. Things are going smooth. I have a job again, not pulling in much... but it is something. After work today I drove home, its only about 3-4 miles from my work to my parents house, and yet because it is LA, it took me 40 minutes to get there... Traffic is the worst, it is something I had completely forgotten about. On the other hand, I went snowboarding yesterday 100 feet away from my house, set up a rail and some AstroTurf. Today I paddled out with my old band-mates Aaron and Johnny and had a lot of fun. I am enjoying every minute and day hanging out with all of my old friends, catching up with them, seeing my family, and of coarse being in the sun, something that rarely occurs in the northwest. I plan on surfing every day, even when I have work, skating to the beach to surf, and running 2 miles every day to keep myself in shape. Should be a good time down in so cal.

Last Day In Oregon

Today was my last day in Oregon... So instead of packing all day, I decided to go Hiking with all the roomies and set up a few features, since I cannot afford a season pass. We had WAY too much fun, and I learned a few tricks. Unfortunately Jo sucks at taking pictures!!! GAH JO!!! We set up a down corrigated barrel with a lip on both sides and a lip in the middle - people were throwing down! When then set up a pole jam that had a decent landing - super gnar! Adrianne was throwing down front ones. to fakie nose taps, to front ones out! And Andrew was throwing One footer Taps onto the pole jam - LEGIT! Then Max and and Derek set up a BOOOSTER jump that was practically vertical, and had fun spinning to win off that! Here are some Photos!

Writing a Book

I decided I am going to write a book. I decided this when I was not able to sleep last night, and I have already completed the first chapter. This book will be entitled: "How to Get Yourself into Debt; A Sacarstic and Positive Guide to Help You Lose All Your Money." As the name applies... it is a first hand guide book to help you get into debt. Since I have experienced it first hand, I figured I might as well get something good out of my debt.

Sitting in the Back of Cop Cars, Basketball, Dogs, and Airports

Today was the last day of the spring pass riding at Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood, which means my last day of the season. I rode the half pipe all day, got some sweet shots, and it was a great season ender. 100 days of riding in my 08/09 season, not bad. After shredding Max, Jo, and I headed up to Govy with our new house puppy... Ziggy. We ended up playing a couple games of Basketball, Horse, and Around the World. Jo and I played the first game, and of coarse I won. Then Max challenged me, and he one by two, which made me very sad!

Later that night Jo and I had to drive into Portland to pick up Adrianne from the airport. Her flight landed at 12:30 AM. So we left our house at 11:40 PM, Adrianne's car was on E, so I offered to take my car because it actually had gas. Jo refused and said: "We'll just get gas down the way..." Little did we know that EVERY gas station on Hwy 26 closes at 6 PM! We went a few miles down the way, to find that every gas station also turns off their pumps. Instead of turning back to get my car... we continued on towards Sandy Oregon, which was about 10 miles away from where we were. I estimated we could go about ten miles. Right as the Subaru ran out of gas, we made it to the top of a hill, and I remembered that we were about a mile a way from a gas station just outside of Sandy, Sandy was only about a mile away. We decided to walk to it and get some gas. BAD IDEA! : Midnight... Pitch black... We happened to be wearing ALL BLACK... No lights... In the middle of the woods... In the middle of NO WHERE... No gas tank... No sidewalk... GREAT IDEA!!! We tried to hitch hike, but every car probably thought we were going to kill them, so they never stopped. At one point Jo didn't want to walk on the side of the highway any more so she hoped over the guardrail as I tried to flag down a passing car. As the car came by Jo was very visibly crouched down behind the guardrail because she tripped or something, I could only imagine what the passing by driver thought - "MURDERERS! DON'T STOP!"

Finally we reached the gas station, in which was closed as well... three gas stations had been closed. We figured, if it came down to it we would dig through a dumpster to find a milk carton, or a liter of cola and fill that up with gasoline (VERY BAD IDEA, DO NOT TRY AT HOME). Lucky before we were reduced to that horrible, and I MEAN HORRIBLE idea... a cop pulls into the gas station, and asks "Is that your car back there?" So he gave us a ride into Sandy, where we had to buy not a small two gallon gas tank, but a GIANT 6 gallon one... this thing is the size of my chest... Filled it up, and the cop gave us a ride back to the car. This being my first time ever in a cop car, and Jo's second... this time she had pants on, thank god. Looking back at my cop car experience... all I have to say is the seats were cool!! The entire ride back to the car Jo and I just talked about how cool the seats were, even though they were horribly uncomfortable. The seats have elbow holes, and a cut out for your hands with hand cuffs.

Is This Really What Music Has Become?

I ask you this... "Is This Really What Music Has Become?" Mediocrity, Imitation, and the same shit over and over again? Don't get me wrong, I love music, and I love most of these mediocre bands that I am talking about, but it is just getting TOO ridiculous! I was in the typical highschool band when I was younger, we were a band for about 3 years. I believe and so does the rest of the band, that we were doing something different then the rest of the generic hardcore/screamo bands. But when I actually looked at the band, and the music scene, I saw something I hated... hence why I left the band and moved to Lake Tahoe. Anyway going back to the original reason why I started this rant/blog... I came across one of the worst ideas in the music scene that I have seen in a while. I came across one of my favorite bands myspace, who I discovered, they had done a cover of a cover! This really irritates me because, I know that they only did this to get a catchy song under their belt, and to achieve more fans. Music should be the last thing that worries about getting fans. Music to me is straight from the heart, and it means something deeply to the artist playing it, regardless of if a record label, or a bunch of scene kids like it. Anyway I doubt that Confide (The band that made this horrible cover) even knows who Iron and Wine is. I am sure all of you know who The Postal Service is... and mainly you know who they are because they did the cover of Iron and Wine's Such Great Heights. The fact that Confide did a cover of The Postal Service's cover of Such Great Heights, just infuriates me, and again, Don't get me wrong, I love confide, and I love the guys in the band, they are rad dudes, but REALLY????? This is exactly why I no longer want to use my musical passion and talent, because the music scene is RIDICULOUS! WHERES THE RESPECT FOR THE ORIGINAL ARTIST... COVER THE ORIGINAL SONG, NOT A COVER OF A COVER!!!!
AHHHHH this is music we are talking about people, not a way to make money!

SIA 09 - The People, Products, and Good Times

In January 2009, we headed over to the world famous, Las Vegas, for SIA 09. For those of you that do not know, SIA, is a trade show that takes place every year to display all the worlds best brand products for next year. It's a great place to network and party. Here are a few products and brands that stood out to me, and some fun pictures from our time in Vegas. I lost my Sim card that had all the other brands, so basically... there are very very few brands, but gotta work with them ok.

This Cd being the bands fourth release is flawless. When they had another almost complete line up change, still only having Josh as the original member, and Kasey Wolf who was a member while writing and recording "The Fiance," lets just say... I had low expectations for this album. I figured 3 new members would have changed the band sound and feel. Well it didn't change the band or the sound, but it did however make them better at writing. This album is full from the beginning to the end. Still having some of their older style from "Everything is Alive, Everything is Breathing, Nothing is Dead, Nothing is Dying" It is almost as dirty as their first full length, which is impressive considering that that album was live tracked and this album was not. The other great thing I love about this album is every song has its own unique outtro and or middle section where you believe the song is over, and it sounds like two very different songs in one.

1.)Teach- A great way to start off an album. This song gives a perfect example of how the album flows; fast, slow, fast, trashy. Teach just does not stop!
2.)Evolve- Fast! This song's progression is unbelievable, punkers would love this song if the lyrics were about anarchy. Speaking of the lyrics - Incredible! The transition halfway through is one of the best, and goes into outtro.
3.)Need- This song is another fast thrasher, at first it sounds a little too much like Evolve, but quickly you can tell a difference, when the re verb hits and you think the song is over, but it comes back in heavy.
4.)Impress- My favorite song on this album, fast and groovy, the outtro is my favorite part, just a groovy fast jam with a simple note being played over the riff.
5.) Never I - Another amazingly well rounded song, really catchy, which is a shocker for The Chariot. This is a perfect example of the growth in the bands writing, and the end of this song reminds me a lot of Jakes drumming.
6.)Giveth - One of the strongest songs. It's got more groove than usual and is another catchy song! this songs ender reminds me a lot of "Then Came To Kill" off The Finance.
7.)Abandon - I did not expect this song at all. Dirty southern sound that sounds like it would have been on Norma Jeans "Kiss the Child and Bless the Martyr" Slow and Heavy, then jumps into a fast thrash beat to be the ender.
8.)Daggers - By far the best song on the album, so well written, and is the single, this song has everything you could want plus more in a song.
9.)Oversea - The Shortest song but it gets the job done.
10.)Mrs. Montgomery Alabama III- Best lyrics and another amazingly well written song. This song is the longest and actually repeats a few parts.

Flight over to Germany from Portland was pretty mellow, it might even have been the nicest flight I have ever been on. I had a window seat and sat next to a British man, in which I kept trying to talk to him to have a friendly conversation, but he wanted nothing to do with my tight pants, long black hair, lip ring, and bright colored T. Arrived at 8:30 AM local time and got ready to explore the Frankfurt airport, so on my 10 hour layover I would know where I could go. I had planned on having a few beers in one of the airports outdoor beer garden, but I decided I would save my money. I stayed up the entire time in the airport, first few hours flew by then I felt like I was being followed by irresponsible parents and their annoying screaming children. I think I heard "I want a kid's meal" or "wheres my Lolly?" in about ten different language's. Exhaustion set in, but sleep did not come. Finally it was four so I went to check in for my flight and as I went through security, a German lady checked my ticket and I heard her say "Your flight has changed to 8:35." So I asked to make sure exhaustion wasn't tricking me... and she said yes. I thought it was a cruel joke. Well I was rather frustrated because now I have four hours to wait instead of two. So I continued to my gate... no one was there, CRAP! So it was true. I then walked the mile back to the customer service booth where I waited ten minutes to simply find out the flight was still scheduled for 6:35 PM, but the gate had changed from A30 to A35! I misunderstood what she had said and her German accent did not help. Fifteen minutes before boarding my flight to Athens it starts POURING RAIN! Right as I got on my tiny little plane, it stopped raining. It was unassigned seating in which I hate, but I sat down at the window so I would be able to see Athens. A German Rastafarian sat down next to me, at first I thought... cool! No! This guy was so inconsiderate! His wife a very hefty and rather manly white German lady sat behind me and would not stop kicking my chair which I believe is because she wanted to sit next to her husband, so I offered and she declined. She thought it would be much more fun for the both of us, if she sat behind me and continued to kick my seat. The other man I was sitting next to was the most immature and bitter old man I ever had the pleasure to sit next to. I had to pee, so I asked nicely if I could get by and they obliged. When I returned to my seat, the man called me an asshole. Here's what was said; "Your an Asshole!" As I stared at him confused why I am being called an asshole, he then say's "There is only twenty minutes left in the flight!" Still in shock about this mans immaturity, I look up at the in-flight information, it showed that there was 49 minutes left until landing. I was very tempted to say "Thank you... (pause for effect) for showing me that a twenty year old can be more mature than a man in his fifties..." But I decided I did not want to sit next to this jerk for the next 45 minutes after I pissed him off even more. After landing I got very lost in Athens, but I hopped in a cab and found my way really quickly. Got to the hostel and didn't sleep again! Got up at break of dawn, got a weak but free breakfast, hiked to see the Acropolis - Amazing, I wish I could see it in it's day and age and it's peak age. Got trampled by tourist from far and wide, got overrun in a stampede by hundreds of five year olds, got lots of pictures, then hopped onto a ferry to make it to Ios. Arrived on the island of Santorini at 1:30 AM! Kari and I ended up throwing a couple towels and blankets on the ground of the ferry waiting room and fell asleep, or at least I did, Kari didn't get any sleep because the hard ground was not comfortable. We finally got a ferry to the island of Ios around noon, Finally I started my summer. It was horribly hot and I could not wait to get to the beach! We went to the beach had a nice day and then toke me out for the night to explore Ios. Every day we spent at the beach, and went out for almost every night, minus a few nights we just were pooped. Time does not exist on Ios, and apparently neither does customer service. Greeks do what they want and when they want. It is extremely relaxing - more so than Tahoe and Welches, which is saying a lot! Eventually Greg, one of Kari's friends from New Zealand she had met 2 years ago on Ios. Greg introduced us to a few awesome bands, and an awesome english sitcom called "Black Books" Go look up a few clips on youtube.

My 2 weeks ended in Ios, so I hopped on my ferry to take me back to Athens. It was an hour late, and on the way to Santorini, I felt like I was in a Giant Winter storm. The boat felt like it was going to sink at every wave! We stopped at almost every island on the way back to Athens, and arrived in the port around 1:30 Am once again. I found a cab and asked to take me to Athens Backpackers Hostel, and it cost me 25 Euros to take a cab at 2 Am in the morning. Backpackers was all filled up, so they gave me directions to Travelers and Students Hostel. I walked around for about 15 minutes through the bad part of town, and walked through some sketchy dark streets, that I thought I was going to get jumped. Eventually found it and checked it, spent my last 27 euros on the hostel and met two Canadians that actually were cool. Hung out with them the next day for a bit before I decided to head to the airport to fly to Frankfurt. Spent the night in Frankfurt in an awesome hotel just outside of Frankfurt. I watched the German version of Jackass and went down to the restaurant and hand the best meal of my life; giant bacon wrapped steak, and a giant German beer! Got on my plane early in the morning and finally arrived in the states.

Now I am bummed that I am no longer in Europe! But I am excited to snowboard tomorrow!

This video was put on here to show you how stupid I can be. I bought a digital camera before I went to Greece so I could take pictures on the trip. It was broken, and made a funny noise when it records videos as you can hear. I figured I would return it to get money for rent, however I toke it out to the bars and ended up smashing the LCD screen. The ironic part about this is that when i bought the camera Best Buy offered me a protection plan for like an extra 20 bucks, but I denied this because I thought to myself, NO WAY I'M BREAKING THIS CAMERA!

Trip Ending

IOS - Day # I Don't Even Know...

Ios is amazing... time does not exist here. If it were up to me (I didm't pay rent for the pad back in Oregon) I would stay here for possibly another month. I have been offered a job as a DJ here at a bar.. where back home in the states I am still trying to get one, I am sure that being in Greece isn't helping my chances. However I really do want to get back to Or because I am itching to snowboard, I have been finding myself looking at ruin's in Greece thinking... how that would be a sick feature, or a sick rail/stairset to hit... if only there was snow. Next summer, I plan on coming back to Ios, and spending about a month here working... and spend a few days in Crete.

I am in Greece and I have had one hell of an adventure getting over here! Flight out of Portland at 1:15 Pm, into Frankfurt at 8:30 Am the next morning, where I then had a ten hour layover of just sitting in the airport. I couldn't sleep, all I did was drink coffee, lots of coffe and read, I tried to talk to a few people, but no one would have any of it. I guess I didnt really fit in with my skin tight jeans, long black hair, and bright blue V-neck T. Finally I fly into Athens, which by the way was only a 2 hour and 50 min. flight but I was called an asshole for asking the man next to me if he minded that i went by him to go pee... what a jerk, I got yelled at by a German Rastafarian for accidently taking his water cup while he was peeing... its ok tho, i made it up to him by giving him my chocolate cake. On the way to meet Kari in Athens next to the Acroplis, i got lost a number of times, ended up just taking a cap, and i was litterally almost where I needed to be! Had a beer at like 1 Am in Athens, and called it a morning. Jetlagged as crap the next day I explored the Acroplis and got some nice shots, then that afternoon Kari and I hopped on a Ferry for the island of Santorini. We got into Santorini at 1 Am, where we set up camp (two towells, one TINY blanket, a few t-shirts as pillows and fell asleep in the ferry waiting room, which had smelly dogs, and AC that was blowing like 50 degrees! The next morning we got on the ferry to Ios, and finally got to get to the beach and go out to the bars!

I will post more info later with pictures, but as of right now, Greek internet sucks, and I have to pay for it...
